Help to Buy

Government-backed Help to Buy was launched in the recent budget. You may only need a 5% deposit to buy a brand new home, which is then 100% yours. Help to Buy is available on properties worth up to £600,000 and mortgage rates are extremely competitive.

How Help to Buy works:

  • You only need a minimum of 5% deposit to qualify
  • The Government will lend you up to 20% of the value of your property through an equity loan (minimum of 10%)
  • The loan can be repaid at any time or on the sale of your home
  • You will only need to secure up to a 75% mortgage from a bank or building society
  • Help to Buy is only available on new build homes
  • There is a maximum home purchase of £600,000
  • Available to all new homebuyers, not just first time buyers

Terms and Conditions 

The name and address of the person referring a friend/relative must be given to the sales advisor at reservation stage. 

The person referring must: 

  • Currently live in a home they rent from Gentoo 
  • Currently live in a new build home that they bought directly from Gentoo (excluding homes purchased under the Right to Buy or Right to Acquire schemes) or 
  • Be currently employed by the Group or employed by a current partner of the Group. 

The vouchers are only payable to both parties on legal completion of the property. 

Only one recommendation can be used per property sale.
